People Forget that Being A Dom or Domme is Not All Fun and Games

Over the past six months since I returned to Fetlife. I have gotten a lot of questions from new doms or individuals interested in becoming a Dom. One thing I have noticed is that they seem to forget that being a Dom is not all fun and games.

Oh yes, in most cases, you get to do anything to your subs you want within their established boundaries. Also, if you are privileged enough like me, who have had a live-in slave. There is no doubt that I got sex on demand and was pampered. But, no one ever talks about stress. You are responsible for helping your sub reach his or her goals. If you have a slave, on many occasions, you are responsible for your slave's well-being during play and sometimes in other aspects of their life. So if you are thinking of being a Dom or Domme, please know that it is not all play and fun. Be serious about the gift that your sub or slave is giving you.

As a Dom or Domme, your sub or slave may require you to do things that make you uncomfortable. I will admit when my sub needed complete humiliation to the point that she wanted to be pissed on. I really struggled with it. I never really felt comfortable about major verbal humiliation. But, I was able to do and do it well. However, relieving myself on my slave was also a challenge. Sometimes, you can be in situations like that. Just remember you can have boundaries also.

If you are a sub looking for a Dom or Domme, make sure you find one that sees you giving yourself over to them as a privilege. If they don't, then your experience will probably be so-so.

This is just my advice for a cold December Tuesday. This is my opinion. I would never call myself an expert. I am always learning new things about the lifestyle and life in general.
